kaiosID App Privacy Policy

kaiosID is an international online service (hereinafter "kaiosID", "we", or "us"), providing a platform that enables users (hereinafter "User" or "you") to scan products and consumer goods via a mobile application to determine their authenticity and obtain unique information on the scanned item, such as its complete traceability.

This privacy policy applies to all use of our service through our mobile applications.

Information we collect

Device ID:

When you start the application for the first time, a Device Identifier is created and assigned to your device as an authentication token for all interactions between the app and the web platform.

Device Location:
The device current location is used when you scan a product to determine its authenticity. It helps in confirming or refute the authenticity of a product based on where it is supposed to be located at.

App usage data:

When you interact with the application, some of your interactions will be logged and stored on our system, such as:​

  • The products you scanned.

  • The interactions you had with the information on the product you just scanned.

  • ​The various questions you answer within the app, as well as the contact forms you fill.

How we use the collected data

Device Location:
It is a key requirement to our authentication process, and it's only used for the product authentication; by no means is the device location used to track and/or profile the user.

App usage data:

The aforementioned data on how you interacted with the app is an essential part of our business.We use them for three purposes:​

  • To measure the impact of the products on the users. The app usage data are used for product traceability, brand protection, product information display or marketing.

  • To provide specific product offers according to your needs. We also use these data to tailor promotions based on the product you interacted with.

  • To measure the app effectiveness and improve the service quality. We finally use the data to know what you did like on our app and what you didn’t. That way we can implement great new features, improve existing features or even remove some.

Other instances where kaiosID may need to share your data

  • To enforce applicable Terms, including investigation of potential violations.

  • To detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues.

  • To protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of kaiosID, our users, or the public as required or permitted by law.

Your rights as User

As provided by the General Data Protection Regulation, you have rights concerning your personal data. These rights are:

​Request a copy of all your personal data that we store and to transmit that to another data controller.

  • Delete and amend your personal data that we collected.

  • Ask for rectification of incorrect or inaccurate data concerning you, or to have incomplete personal data completed. 

  • Ask for erasure of personal data regarding you (under certain circumstances).

  • Ask for the restriction of the processing of your data (under certain circumstances).

  • Object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes by withdrawing your personal consent.

  • Lodge a complaint with national data protection authorities regarding our processing of your personal data.

You can send us all your request at info@kaiosID.com. Please note that we may ask you for additional information in order to confirm your identity and ensure data security.

How long do we retain the data

We will retain usage data for as long as requested by our business (up to a maximum of 6 months). Once this process is over, we strip away all personal information from the data and we store them as anonymized data.

Upon request, we will delete all personal data linked to you. We may continue to store anonymized data that can no longer be used for personal identification.

Updates

We will update this privacy policy as needed so that it is current, accurate, and as clear as possible. Your continued use of our Services confirms your acceptance of our updated Privacy Policy.
